Làng Vân Đà Nẵng – Peaceful and Serene

Nestled beneath the Hải Vân Pass – known as the 'top grandeur under the sky,' there exists a tourist destination in Da Nang named Làng Vân. A small, humble village completely detached from the bustling, youthful city across Da Nang Bay.

Located at the foot of Hải Vân Pass, in the northern Hoà Hiệp, Liên Chiểu, Da Nang City, Làng Vân, also known as Hy Lạc Viên, is rustic and primitive. Formerly known as the leper village or the phoenix village, it was the dwelling place of people afflicted with leprosy, living in complete isolation from the urban population of Da Nang since the 1970s. They lived quietly and silently, shrouded in the seclusion from society, and few knew of the existence of these sorrowful individuals.

As people gained more understanding of this disease, the residents here were eventually brought to live within the city, integrating with the community. Nowadays, the village is devoid of inhabitants, with only a few fishermen occasionally visiting to catch fish.

Journey to Vân Village

To explore this fascinating tourist destination in Da Nang, you will have to undergo a somewhat challenging but incredibly interesting journey. To reach here, you can choose one of three ways: ascend to the peak of Hải Vân Pass and then descend along the mountain slope; take a boat from outside Da Nang Bay, or walk through the train tunnel for about 1 km and cross the mountain road with dense vegetation. Many prefer the path through the train tunnel due to its safety, cost-effectiveness, and equally exciting experience.

Vân Village - Pristine and Tranquil – an enticing tourist destination in Da Nang

Leaving behind the sad stories, now, Vân Village Da Nang has become a peaceful and pristine tourist spot, attracting passionate travelers eager for conquest and exploration.

Isolated from the city, the beaches in Vân Village still maintain the inherent serenity of an ancient fishing village with a variety of fish and shrimp, vast rocky shores, and crystal-clear, cool water. When visiting Vân Village, tourists can experience interesting activities such as swimming, camping, and fishing at the three main beaches: Dừa Beach, Chính Beach, and Xoan Beach.

Dừa Beach in Vân Village is the closest to the city and an ideal spot for swimming, campfires, and shellfish hunting. The clear, cool, and clean seawater makes Dừa Beach a favorite among many adoring tourists. Here, you can freely splash in the water and experience the utmost tranquility on a pristine and peaceful beach.

Xoan Beach, although the farthest, is the most beautiful and pristine, an ideal spot for camping within Vân Village. The water here has whirlpools and is quite deep, making it unsuitable for swimming. Nevertheless, with the untouched scenery of a large water area alongside dense forests swaying in the wind, Xoan Beach is a suitable place for camping activities.

Besides Dừa Beach, Vân Village also has Chính Beach. In the past, Chính Beach was the residence of local residents, and now it has become a spacious place for tourists to freely play and have campfires. If you want to enjoy crabs or snails, you can jump onto the stone steps to get close to Isabella's nose. There, you will experience the feeling of catching crabs and snails hiding in the rock crevices.
