Situated 70 km east of Sài Gòn, this island commune belongs to Cần Giờ district, TP Hồ Chí Minh, making it convenient for you to explore Thạnh An even if you only have a day.

2. Getting to the island commune

To reach Thạnh An from Sài Gòn, you must take a ferry. Departing from Sài Gòn, there are several routes you can choose.

If traveling by motorbike or car: head straight on Huỳnh Tấn Phát street to Bình Khánh ferry, then to Cần Giờ. Purchase a ticket to Thạnh An at Cần Giờ. The island ferry ticket costs 10k/ride, and just 30 minutes later, you'll set foot on Thạnh An.

You can also reach here from Sài Gòn by bus: at Bến Thành market, take bus number 20 to Bình Khánh ferry. Then, board the ferry and take bus number 90 to the ferry terminal. Here, you can board the boat to the island. Pay attention to the boat schedule to avoid missing it.

Alternatively, you can visit the seafood market to savor various fresh dishes such as shrimp, squid, octopus, clams, etc. These dishes are prepared after you order, ensuring freshness and satisfaction.
